We offer a flat rate to become a member of CRIL. It is then up to the individual to choose whether they would like use of our insurance policy and/or website. We feel that all options are value for money as it works out at around £7 per month. Members are under no obligations: they may have use solely of the insurance, the website, or both together. This includes our ever-expanding resource library, which is filled with 100s of poems, readings, music, and much more, all categorised so that you can find what you need quickly and easily.

You will also have access to the Celebrants' Circle; a section where members can be kept up to date with the latest additions to the website, see any updates to membership or company policy, and submit their own resources they'd like to share.

Our policy will offer you the following:

- GBP2,000,000 Professional Indemnity Cover

- GBP5,000,000 Public and Products Liability Cover

Once you are a registered member and we have received your payment, we will send you a file with the policy documents.

There is no conflict or issue with holding various insurances unless a claim is made against multiple policies for the same incident. Technically funeral celebrants are often covered by various policies as they are instructed via funeral directors who also hold PLI and PI insurance offering cover for our work.

Under no circumstances would The CRIL Team put your business in jeopardy by not doing our due diligence on your behalf. However, if you feel more comfortable staying with your current insurance provider, you're still welcome to join CRIL. You're also able to choose our insurance policy at a later date should you wish to.

In order to be insured by us, you must be based in the U.K. Details of your training are also required when registering to join CRIL, however, each registration will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We understand that there are many working celebrants who don't have formal qualifications but are very experienced, so please make sure to give as much detail as possible when signing up.

We have set the cost of membership to £85 for the year from 1st January 2022 to 31st December 2022 (both dates inclusive). This price will only change in line with increases to the policy/website costs and will remain the same throughout the year.

Members joining between these dates will not be considered for a partial payment and will still be subject to the full £85. This is due to the insurance policy covering a fixed 1-year period from the aforementioned start date for all members. If you join later, you will not be covered for 1 year from the date you join (e.g. member joining 1st June 2022 will only be covered until 31st December 2022).

Once we have confirmed your payment, you will be sent details of how to sign in to the members-only section of the website and, if applicable, insurance policy documents.

No, you will be sent an email closer to the time of renewal which will inform you that your membership is ending. We will also inform you of any updates (if applicable) to the renewed insurance policy regarding cover and changes in cost.

If you wish to stay with us, you will need to respond to our email so that we can send you the payment information and up-to-date insurance documents.

Yes! Our library includes material that can be used for all sorts of occasions, including; funerals, weddings, handfastings, vow renewals, and baby namings.

Members can also send us materials they think other celebrants might like to use via the Celebrant's Circle, which can then be added to the library.
